"I have been fortunate to work with Melanie since 2020. Each year I worked with her I improved my written applications considerably. She understood my concerns of someone facing adversity and not having particularly good grades at GCSES and A-Level’s and how this may hinder me during the application process. Melanie worked with me to ensure I was using my life experiences and adversity in a positive way on my applications rather than in a negative way. Melanie took the time out to review all of my written applications before I submitted them (this sometimes was 30 or more applications). Melanie was always there to reassure me and bring me up when things were difficult and the times I spent crying and overwhelmed with the process because she knew how much I wanted this. She was always there to pick me up and to remind me of how much I had achieved over the years but also how far I had come and could not give up now. Melanie goes the extra mile to help and ensure you put your best foot forward during both the application and interview process.

"I approached Melanie in my third year of applying to pupillage, after I had submitted my written applications but before I received any invites to interview. Previously I had obtained a couple of first-round interviews with different chambers, but struggled to progress to the second round stage. In our initial call Melanie helped me to understand where I was struggling, and what areas to focus on – mainly confidence, having conviction in my answers and understanding how to fully evidence and conclude my answers using the STAR technique.
